Singing Career
Christina Custode began her singing career at an early age, having grown up in a musical house with her trumpet playing, Jazz musician father Lewis Custode. Custode started her professional career by playing at open mic nights, private parties, and wherever she could find an audience. Since those early days, her popularity has grown and she has expanded her touring from the East Coast to the West; and growing a sizable following with New York City’s indie music scene.
She has been named “Buffalo’s Best Female Vocalist” and “Buffalo’s Best Original Music Act” multiple times and has garnered several Artvoice Best of Buffalo Awards. After self-releasing her first two records, she returned to the studio in 2023 to record some demos, produced by 13th Street Records owner Ted Sterns. This project led to discussions regarding further projects.
On August 9, 2024, Custode recorded her first album for 13th Street Records titled, I Feel The Earth Move: the songs of Carole King live. This live recording with her 3-piece band features nine Carole King songs and two originals recorded at The Woodbox Theatre before a sold-out audience.
The 11-song CD will be released on November 9th, 2024. A release party with a live performance and signing will be held on Saturday, November 16th at HiFi Hits in Williamsville, NY.
